Hosting

What's involved in hosting?

I
f you are considering Hosting a family from Mont Saint Aignan be assured that there is no need for you to speak French as the organiser will take account of the households ability to converse in French. There is a general rule that when in England we speak English and when in France we speak French. However many active members of both twinning groups have proficient English and French so families can be matched for competencies.

Visitors vary from single persons to small families. Most are middle aged couples

The visits are normally arranged spring and autumn Bank Holidays. Arrival times vary but usually a Friday evening. Saturday would be an organised coach trip to a tourist attraction and would normally take a full day. The hosting family are encouraged to enjoy the day with their visitors but it is not compulsory. Guests leave on Sunday morning.

Catering may involve an evening meal Friday. Saturday would involve breakfast, packed lunch plus an evening meal. Sunday would normally only involve breakfast.

If you did not wish to take a full part in the weekends activities you would still be responsible for delivering your guests to and from the coach and other events.

We have found that nearly everyone attempts to join in as much as possible and gets great pleasure from the experience.

Of course we would love to see you on a coach going to France with us as well. There are many French families who enjoy the hosting experience both for themselves and their children and can speak quite good English if required.
